Us Army overturns century-old convection of black soldiers.
The convection involved 110 black soldiers; of those, 19 were executed. Stemming from the Houston Riots on Aug 23, 1917, the Army Board for Correction of Military Records determined that the soldiers did not receive fair treatment and due process due to their race. Their convection was overturned, and they were given an honorable discharge.

Female black artist becomes first to win a CMA award.
Track Chapman became the first black female artist to win a CMA award. Luke Combs’ cover of Chapman’s “Fast Cars” was named song of the year. This category honors the songwriter, thus awarding Chapman the honors.
